The spin-off company Mavionics GmbH was founded at the beginning of 2004 by three researches of the Institute of Aerospace-Systems.

The Institute of Aerospace Systems belongs to the Technical University of Braunschweig and works on the scientific field of Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs).
